Popular Stainless Steel Grades for MIM:

1. 304 stainless steel, containing around 18% chromium and 8% nickel, is highly versatile. It offers good corrosion resistance and formability, making it suitable for consumer electronics and general mechanical parts in MIM.

2. 316 stainless steel, with added molybdenum, excels in more corrosive environments like marine and chemical industries. Its enhanced resistance to chlorides makes MIM parts durable in harsh conditions.

3. 410 stainless steel is a martensitic type. With about 13% chromium, it can be heat-treated for high hardness and strength, ideal for MIM components that require wear resistance, such as cutting tools.
